Im back now!

Hello All-

So for my last day in Costa Rica I went Bungee jumping! It was so much fun! I wasn't really scared until I jumped off, because I was just free falling, but it was great!

After that I went to San Jose, the main city in Costa Rica, to buy gifts for my parents and brothers.

I just spent the later half of my day hanging out with my sisters. It was the perfect ending to my time in Costa Rica!

The night before my mom made me a special dinner. It was awesome because the table was really nicely set and everyone was there. She started saying nice things about me and she started to cry. Then her daughters started to cry, and of course, so did I! It was very sweet of her to do that for me!

Oh yeah, I have to tell you guys about my flight back! First of all, I left my house at 4:15 in the morning for the airport. My flight didn't didn't leave until 9:40, but I went early to split the cost of the taxi with a classmate. I finally got on the airplane, but there was a really long delay! The pilot said that there was something wrong with the engine, then with some screen. We finally left, but I didn't have a lot of time to catch my next flight! I had to recheck my bags and the lady was convinced that I wasn't going to make it. I told her to let me try! I ran throughout the entire airport to catch my flight! Unfortunately, I made it, but my luggage didn't! They sent it to me this morning!

Ok, well that is the end! I hope you enjoyed my blog...and look out for my next one! I am going to Jamaica!

Calling all Taylor Lautner fans!

Of course I would be out of the country when the new Twilight movie came out! Fortunately, I could see it here! The only difference is that it came out a week later here, and there were spanish subtitles, but who cares!

So, if you know me, you know I am in love with Taylor Lautner. For anyone who likes that sort of look in a guy, they need to come to Costa Rica, there are a lot of "Taylor Lautners" floating around! It is awesome!

Now on to other things...

It is coming to the end of my stay here. Tomorrow is my last day of school! It is crazy to think that I have been here for 5 weeks. My host mom made all of my favorite things for dinner today! She even made me my favorite pinapple drink!

Although I wish that I had more time, I am excited to go home as well.

I will miss it here, but I want to see my family!

I have started a list of all of the things that I am going to miss and things that I am not going to miss in my head, I will let you guys know what I think tomorrow.

Also, it looks like I am going to go Bungee jumping on Friday! That will be the last thing I do here in Costa Rica! Way to go out with a bang right!!! : )

until tomorrow!

Puerto Viejo!

Hello all!

I am now on my last week here! : (

I went to Puerto Viejo, which is a beach on the Caribean side! Most everyone in my program came! It was pretty funny because we all came with different groups, but we would run into each other when we were walking around the town.

So this beach town was different from the rest. This place was all about Bob Marley! You could hear Regae music all over the place and there were a lot of people wearing dreads and Jamaican colors.

Ok, so there are a few things I have to mention about my experience here!

1. I went to a Regae bar that was literally on the beach, it was so much fun! Really foggy sometimes, but cool!
2. I slept in a hammock my second night and it was awesome!! I really want to buy one, but I am still deciding if I should!
3. The ATM's didn't work, so at times it was a big pain!
4. I went on an adventure with 3 of my other friends. We rented bikes and rode to a beach that was about 9 miles away. Unfortunately, on the way back the tire of my friend's bike popped!! The two of us stayed behind 8 miles away from our hostel waiting for the other two people to find us a taxi! My friend Grace and I were on the side of the road in our bathing suits while tons of cars passed us including the police, ambulance and coast guard! We were all getting nervous because we had to catch our bus home at 4 and we left the beach kind of early, but the delay was setting us back. Finally a guy stopped, at the time we weren't sure if he was the person our friend sent, but it was! He took Grace and the bike back to the hostel while the rest of us rode back as fast as we could! We ate fast then took a taxi to the bus stop!
5. I am very tan right now!
6. Long busrides SUCK!
7. Snorkling wasn't going to happen for us! The current was just way too strong...

I think that is about it for now!

Hasta luego!

Tamarindo!

Hello guys -

Before I tell you about how awesome my weekend was, I want to tell you that on my last busride home my camera got stollen! I lost all of my awesome pictures from this whole week and I am pretty bitter about it, but at least I can tell you about all of the good things that happened this weekend! I am not sure if I will buy another camera while I am here, the rumor is that it is pretty expensive! Oh well, things happen!

As for Tamarindo, I left Thursday afternoon and got there at around 10. In my group of friends we have someone who had been to this beach before so we knew exactly which hostel we were going to stay it. It was called "La oveja negra" ("The Black Sheep"). When we walked in it was awesome to see the different culture that exists there. There were tons of surfer guys walking around with their light hair and perfect bodies, as a girl, it was a pretty awesome sight. Later I found out that the majority of them were Argentinian. The place was really colorful and retro looking. It was cool, there was air conditioning, which is rare down here for the price we paid! That first night, some of us went to this Regae club. It was pretty fun, really hot because it was basicly outside, but fun!

The first full day we spent at the beach and walking around the town and going into all of the shops. I ended up buying a purse and and dress! The beach was awesome! It was very pretty and the waves weren't crazy. There also weren't any rocks, so it was a good beach for swimming. In Montezuma it was hard to swim there. That night we stayed in and cooked our own meal. It was cool because we all helped out in some way, it was also a way to save money and make some friends with the other guests at the hostel. While we were cooking, we talked to a guy who was making Mate, an Argentine tea, and another group of boys making homemade pizza. It was fun to swap food.

We didn't only meet Argentinians while we were here. We met a group of Brasilians as well. We actually ended up hanging out with them frequently. A few of us ended up renting surf boards for $10 and the Brasilian guys taught us how to surf! It was SO much fun! I definitely want to do it more often. It is cool to say that I learned how to surf in Costa Rica! We were out in the water for a really long time, and even though I had 85 spf on, I got a lot of sun! I am definitely a few shades darker! I also forgot to take off my wrist band from the club, so I have a really bad tan line from where the wrist band was! Oh well, it is fading slightly!

One cool thing about this town, and really about Costa Rica in general, is that the smoothies are cheap! They are not in short supply of fruit, so they are always fresh and wonderful tasting! I also learned that plums are expensive here, I found that kind of odd.

One thing I really like about Costa Rica is that I have been able to meet people from all over the world. Of course I have met a lot of people from different places in the touristy areas, but I now live with a student from Germany. She is very nice, she got here today and it is fun to talk to her because she tells me all about Germany and the places she has been, which is all over Europe! It is great! We also met someone from Austrailia and Israel. It is just fun! Also, even though this person lives in the United States, it is still cool that I know someone from Alaska now! She offered to travel around with me if I go up there, and I really hope I get the chance to do that someday! I have always wanted to go there!

Ok, that is all. We will see if I can get any pictures from this trip....as you know, my pictures were all lost from this week. It is too bad, I had some cool pictures with my surf board!

Until next time!
